All-girl cast performs To Kill a Mockingbird
Lake Washington Girls Middle School is performing the play To Kill a Mockingbird. Twenty-one sixth and seventh graders succeed at conveying this complex, moving story in a sophisticated manner.
The students at Lake Washington Girls Middle School read Harper Lee's novel To Kill a Mockingbird in the sixth grade. Because they loved the story so much, they chose to perform the play for their seventh grade production.
In this story, the age, gender, and race of each character is very important. This production is particularly interesting because it has been cast without regard to the physical appearance of the actresses -- and they are all actresses.
This weekend, May 16 and 17, they will be doing the play at their school, located at 3201 Hunter Blvd. South.
