ENERSYS ACHIEVES ISO 9001:2000 CERTIFICATION FOR ALL NORTH AMERICAN OPERATIONS

Reading, PA (PRWEB) May 17, 2003 -EnerSys Inc., the worlds leading provider of stored DC power products, systems and services for industrial applications, is proud to announce that all of its North American operations have received ISO 9001:2000 certification. EnerSys chosen registrar, the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI), performed the assessment and, as of April 2003, had awarded certification to all North American manufacturing sales and service facilities. The ISO 9001:2000 registration covers EnerSys design, manufacture, sales and service of batteries, chargers and accessories.

The ISO 9001:2000 certified North American manufacturing locations are: Hays, KS; Richmond, KY; Warrensburg, MO; Tijuana, Mexico; Monterrey, Mexico; Sumter, SC; Cleveland, OH; and Ooltewah, TN. The companys corporate headquarters in Reading, PA was certified in November 2001 to the new revision of the standard, including all design functions. In addition, all EnerSys United States service locations were certified.

President and CEO of EnerSys, John D. EnerSys became the first industrial battery plant in the United States to become
ISO 9002:1994 certified; all of its other facilities achieved registration shortly thereafter.
