Many organizations are developing in-house programs for using the Internet to bolster their public affairs programs. e-advocates new training program is designed to give those responsible for managing these programs, and colleagues who can benefit from these programs to support their own work, strategic training so they can get the most out of their e-advocacy tools. According to Dr. Rosenblatt, In the final analysis, e-advocacy tools are only valuable when used in a broadly conceived strategic plan that effectively influences the political process and public policy. These training programs are designed to open wider the eyes of public affairs professionals using these tools to their vast potential."
Dr. Rosenblatt, the new Director of Training Programs, is a long-time veteran in the field of e-advocacy. He is a frequent lecturer and has published articles on cyberpolitics for many years. As a professor at George Mason University, he was one of the very first in the nation to introduce the study of Internet politics to university students. In 1997, Dr. Rosenblatt was part of the core team that founded Media Bureau Networks (MBN), a streaming media industry leader based in Philadelphia. Under his project management as Washington Bureau Chief, MBN Webcasted live coverage from the 2000 Republican and Democratic Presidential Nominating Conventions. For the past two years, Dr. Rosenblatt served as Vice President for Online Advocacy Services at Stateside Associates.
