Welcome To Shimmerplanet
The music of Shimmerplanet has been described as both ethereal and eerie, as whimsical, and as "ultimately sexy".
Shimmerplanet's debut CD, "Welcome to Shimmerplanet", was produced by Blake Morgan (Lenny Kravitz, Patti Rothberg, Mike Errico) and mastered by Phil "Butcher Brothers" Nicolo (Aerosmith, The Police).
Shimmerplanet is the vivacious duo of Carolyn Eufrasio and John Fischer. The two met in college, where Carolyn studied opera and John studied piano with Mary Sauer, the principal pianist for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Their first collaborations were as classical musicians but the two quickly branched out into singing rock and roll at local NY clubs.
The music of Shimmerplanet has been described as both ethereal and eerie, as whimsical, and as "ultimately sexy". The CD is a unique blend of cello and trombone coupled with electronic influences, aggressive electric guitar and drum work by label-mates Morgan and Jonathan Ellinghaus. Add to this the powerful, compelling vocals and lyrics provided by Carolyn and John and you are captivated.
"The vocals really are the star elements of this album. From Fischer's sleepy/creepy lead on 'Happy' to Eufrasio's Aretha-like fills on 'Envy', every track brims with nuance and emotion".
- The New York Revolver
"Welcome To Shimmerplanet" has spawned several singles. "No Safe" and "Everything's Perfect" are the current radio favorites while "Radiant" was featured in the film Up to the Roof, by John Buffalo Mailer (Norman Mailer's son).
