Hip Hop Artist Rich Power Shooting Video In LA

Hip Hop artist Rich Power will be in LA from Friday, May 16th to the 18th shooting the video for "For The Love" with scheduled cameos from Knocturnal, Fredro, and The Boot Camp Click.

Armed with radio club bangers like "Why Not" and "For The Love", featuring the sultry vocal stylings of 57's own Melissa Providence; the future looks promising for Rich Power. The Bronx MC is planning to hit the road for a series of shows with his crew, RideHigh.

With his unique style and refreshing voice, Rich has become a force to be reckoned with. A gifted lyricist and musician, Rich has taken his love for Hip Hop music with him regardless of where his life journey leads. Including to Harvard University where he is a member of the class of '04.

"A lot of people are bugged out once they hear me spit and they find out I go to Harvard" says the Ivy League MC. "Raekwon (Wu-Tang Clan) has been one of the only cats who hasn't judged me, or tried to put me in a box 'cuz of where I'm at. He just wanted to hear me spit a dart. That's real. At the end of the day, whether you're on the block hustling, or in the class room reading books, it comes down to good rhymes and good music. I want people to feel better about themselves after they listen to my music."

It's this humble approach that has placed Rich in the forefront of a Hip Hop revolution. From performing at The House of Blues in Boston with Cody Chesnutt, to Club VUE in NYC with Missy Elliot, Rich has showed no fear when it comes to destroying mics.

At a young age, Rich studied Violin at the Harlem School of Music. Moving on to Junior High School, he started experimenting with Hip Hop music by recreating beats he heard on the radio. It was there that he met Ben Lyons, a native New Yorker who shared his passion for Hip Hop music.

During their High School years, this passion inspired them to make a series of freestyle mixes. They also planned and organized the "Fresh Conference", a day of Hip Hop appreciation that was attended by a variety of High Schools. The Conference included performances by actor Danny Hock, Tek and Steele, of the Cocao Brovaz and industry speakers such as Elliot Wilson, Editor-In-Chief, XXL.

The experience gave the duo the confidence to combine their talents, energy and vision. Shortly there after, they formed their own Independent Record Label, 57 Records.

With constant support and praise from established artists like Rahzel, The Roots, Buchshot, Black Moon, and D-Dot, The Madd Rapper; 57 Records is quickly establishing a presence within the world of Hip Hop.
