Catholic Charities Northern Announces General Contractor for Single Farm Worker Housing

Greeley, Colorado regional builder, Growling Bear Co, Inc, assumes responsibility for completion of 'Plaza del Sol.' Catholic Charities Northern expects facility to be finished by September 2003.

Greeley, CO -- Local builder, Growling Bear Co, Inc, will assume responsibility of completion of 'Plaza del Sol. After breaking ground in May 2002, Catholic Charities Northern (CCN) anticipates the construction of the facility to be completed by September 2003.

'Plaza del Sol will be the second housing facility for seasonal and migrant farm workers in Greeley. Located adjacent to 'Plaza del Milagro family housing complex, 'Plaza del Sol will provide housing for single workers and workers with young adult children.

The new facility will include 42 cottages and 1 community meeting center. It is estimated to serve 145 agricultural workers.

'Plaza del Sol will be available during the winter months to individuals and families seeking temporary housing in Weld County.
