Great, but how does it relate to ink saving? There is a new important feature in the version 4.1 -- redirect to printer. Now you have a choice to save the processed image or to print it to a real printer. Together with Hue-Saturation-Value control and clipping tool it gives you power to print only the part of a document you need with as little ink as you want.
To print document to image you open the document with your favorite application and print it to Miraplacid Publisher. Publisher opens a big dialog with image adjustment settings. You can choose output image format (JPEG, TIFF, PNG, BMP or TGA), multi-page mode, image-scaling settings, clip off white borders automatically or manually, adjust gamma, hue, saturation and value, convert image to grayscale or invert colors. Preview window makes this work easy and fun. Push Save All" button to save document pages as individual image files.
Click Directory" tab under the preview window to switch it to directory browser mode.
To print the result to a real printer follow the same procedure, just choose Redirect to printer" in image type dropdown box. Reduce saturation to save color cartridge, increase value to save black ink. To print only a part of the page, switch Borders" to Manual" mode and select the printing area in the preview window.
