A Ground breaking new medical insurance product has just been launched by SA-TOURMED. Radically different from all existing products, the SA-TOURMED policy is aimed at inbound travelers to the entire Southern African region. What makes this product unique is the fact that it is the ONLY medical insurance for inbound travelers that guarantees admittance to all first class medical facilities, without cash upfront payment being required. SA-TOURMED ruffled feathers amongst some SATSA members recently when their e-mail campaign highlighted the fact that many overseas travelers to the Southern African region are being refused treatment unless they pay hefty cash deposits upfront -- regardless of their overseas based medical insurance arrangements. Some SATSA members felt that by highlighting this fact SA-TOURMED was showcasing the region in a bad light. Often faced with a protracted and expensive tussle with overseas based medical insurance companies, that they are forced to demand payment from patients upfront, leaving the patient to claim from their insurers when they get home."
