FEVER SCANNING EQUIPMENT ON DEMO AT TORONTOS PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Boothroyd Imaging Solutions Inc., a Canadian company, has been awarded a contract to provide Thermal Imaging Scanners as a pilot project at Toronto Pearson International Airport and Vancouver Airport.
Boothroyd Imaging Solutions Inc. (PRWEB) May 22, 2003 -TIP) for a variety of applications. One of which is fever detection. The trial will be underway on May 22, 2003 at Toronto Pearson International Airport and June 23, 2003 at Vancouver Airport.
As well as being used in the battle against SARS, the scanners are already in use in Canada as a medical device. They have proven themselves reliable and accurate for a number of other applications from Chiropractic evaluation and assessment to breast cancer detection.
The CTI-TIP system is a computerized-infrared camera that is designed to accurately detect temperature differences when looking at the human body. Since a rise in body temperature is one of the first symptoms of SARS the infrared camera detects the potential SARS patient at a very early stage allowing for further examination. This system is already in use in China for SARS detection at airports, train stations and hospitals.
