Optima Technology offers up to $1 Million Bounty

California (PRWEB) May 28, 2003 - Optima Technology Corporation took an innovative action today to help other software Patent holders in California and the United States by offering a bounty of sorts. Many companies knowingly and un-knowingly violate patents such as ours," says Matthew Bahrami, Vice President, Engineering. As a result companies like Optima typically have to spend millions of dollars over many years with lawyers to recover damages. In addition, if a case goes to trial, one must have indisputable evidence that breaks the corporate veil and that evidence is normally provided by an insider.
Optima decided to take a unique approach to this very expensive and un-civilized problem. Optima is offering a bounty of sorts to anyone who turns in another company and/or entity and provides Optima credible and undisputable documentation that the company and/or entity has or is currently violating our patent as referenced too at: www.optimatech.com/Patent5666531.pdf
Its quite simple. We know that there are insiders who have a civil duty to turn over any evidence of civil and/or criminal activity, such as profiting from someone elses patent by their company or other companies. Why not collect a bounty in the process is our thinking, thats what the "Whistler-blower law" is all about, Mr. Bahrami goes on to say.
The rules and details for claiming the reward can be downloaded at our website www.optimatech.com To start this process download the OptimaAwardAgreement.pdf document, fill it out and fax it back to (775) 255-7991 or e-mail it to patent@optimatech.com.
Without going into the fine print, any person and/or company who aids Optima by providing us with credible documentation that clearly demonstrates proof of a violation of our patent by another company, individual and/or entity shall receive up to $1 million. The award could be split with other parties if more than one party provides similar information about an infringement on said patent party. Compensation will be based on the amount of damages recovered from the infringing company, individual and/or entity. We are targeting this reward to those hard working underpaid people in the know. We are not promoting any illegal activities, but are just reaching out to honest individuals with knowledge and access.
"As a leader in the software industry, we feel that it is our responsibility to not only help protect consumers from the detriments of pirated patents, but also to help curb the negative impact that patent piracy and criminal software counterfeiting have on U.S. companies," said Mr. Bahrami.
