May 23, 2003 - SportzNutz announced to day the addition of John Ransom to it's draft coverage team. Ransom recently gained notoriety when he released the first ever objective analysis of the NFL draft the Ransom Review of the NFL Draft

Said Michael Larson, President and CEO of NutzMedia, "Over the past several months the company, in line with it's strategic direction, has begun to execute a plan which will promote some it's high-quality writers and columnists through syndication. The addition of Mr. Ransom to our draft coverage area is just one step in that process. We are thrilled to have him aboard"

The Ransom Review grades players based on objective criteria such as making an NFL roster, numbers of games started and honors received such as Pro Bowl berths and combines these categories into one overall grade called Pick Points. Pick Points are then tabulated into three team categories: Efficiency, Cumulative and Individual Average

Said John Ransom, creator of the draft review, "I think we all watch coverage of the draft every year with a little amusement as 'experts tell us the supposed value of players who have yet to play a single professional game. I sought out a method by which you can grade previous draft classes using objective criteria to clear up a lot of the misconceptions perpetuated by Draft Gurus.""The original impetus was on grading the draft experts by taking a backwards looks at the draft with efficiency ratings and other scores. But since the raw data is there well also be able to eventually extrapolate tons of information. For example, should a team trade down and take extra picks? What are first round draft choices really worth? Does a good draft correlate into the playoffs? When?

With this data we can provide the answers," added Ransom
