TICKET PACKAGES NOW AVAILABLE FOR WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS EVENT AT NEW CRABAPPLE COURSE

Daily grounds passes and corporate packages are on sale for the American Express Championship, which features the Top 50 golfers in the world Sept 30-Oct 5, 2003. Tiger Woods is the defending champion.

ATLANTA, GA (PRWEB) May 24, 2003 -- For the first time the World Golf Championships-American Express Championship will be held in the United States. The new Crabapple Course of the Capital City Club, in Woodstock, GA, will play host to a field that includes the top 50 professional golfers in the world September 30-October 5, 2003, and all ticket and corporate packages are now available.

The American Express Championship features one of the largest purses in professional golf, with $6 million overall and $1,050,000 to the winner. Eligible players for the American Express Championship are the top 50 players from the Official World Golf Ranking, as well as leaders of the official money lists and orders of merit of the six Federation member Tours not eligible via the Ranking. Tiger Woods is the defending champion, who captured the 2002 Gene Sarazen cup with a one-stroke victory over Retief Goosen at Mount Juliet Estate in Kilkenny, Ireland.

Ticket packages are available for daily rounds and weekly passes. Purchasers will receive a 10% discount when tickets are purchased with American Express, the preferred form of payment. Free parking is provided for all daily ticket holders and weekly packages.

The Championship Club Package, $175, includes one ticket for each day of the event, Tuesday to Sunday. It also provides unlimited access to the Championship Club Pavilion at The Crabapple Course, which has a dining facility, a premium cash bar, and scoring terminals in a sports bar setting. A Season Ticket Package, $110, provides one ticket for each day of the event, Tuesday to Sunday.

Daily Tickets are available for each specific day of Championship Week. Tickets for Thursday or Friday are $35 each; tickets for Saturday or Sunday are $45 each. A Practice Round Pass is available for both Tuesday and Wednesday for $25.
