Jericho Mortgage Supports Educational Program Endorsed by Basketball Hall of Fame Coach John Chaney

Adopt-An-Author, a nonprofit organization founded by The New York Times best-selling author Steve Alten, is a unique reading program offered to secondary school teachers. The program makes even the most reluctant reader love reading. Jericho Mortgage, Gahanna and Lancaster branches, donates proceeds from each closed loan to support this worthy program.

Basketball Hall of Fame coach and educator John Chaney states, "Our educational system faces no greater challenge than getting our youth to read. I fully support the Adopt-An-Author program."

Rod Cotner and Scott Newpoff, owners of Jericho Mortgage, wanted to support the Adopt-An-Author program because it aids the public schools and strengthens the youth community. Rod confirms, "We really want to help the educational system, and this reading program is unique. Most reading programs are focused on elementary schools; this one is geared toward teenagers." He also adds, "Our Gahanna and Lancaster branches also offer special loan programs for teachers and those in education-related occupations as another way of helping out the educational system."
