Speed Dating Service Provides Columbia Singles with The 4-Minute Date

Augusta, GA-The national sensation of Speed Dating has found its way to Columbia, SC. For those bored or disgusted with the singles clubs, bars, personal ads, and Internet dating there is now a new and organized way to meet prospective mates. A relatively even number of bachelors and bachelorettes -- usually 30 to 60 total individuals -- meet each person from the opposite sex, face-to-face, for just 4 minutes. Gathered for one evening in a comfortable, trendy bar or restaurant in the area, The 4-Minute Date is a pre-registration event. Members RSVP Online or by phone, pay the event fee by major credit card and a receive registration confirmation.

At the event the participants sign-in, get their picture taken, receive a scorecard and are designated a table number. It is the designated table number from which they meet their first of up to 35 dates. The scorecard allows participants to track their interest in each date. Once the event commences, every 4 minutes, the sound of a bell indicates it is time for the bachelors to move to the next table and begin the next date. Only the bachelors table-hop but both bachelors and bachelorettes mark their response to each date on their scorecard. Marking an X" under the Touchdown" category scores a positive result while marking fumble" scores a negative result. At the conclusion of the event the organizers collect the scorecards and compile the matches. A match is achieved when both the bachelor and bachelorette mark Touchdown" after their 4-Minute Date. The results for each participant, which include each matchs picture, first name, and email address are emailed within 72 hours of the event. It is then left to the participants to contact their matches or not.

   We found that single people want to go out, enjoy themselves, and mingle with other singles. This is an exciting way to do just that, while hopefully walking away with a few second dates," says Christian Screen, Co-founder of the event. The 4-Minute Date is the only Speed Dating organization in the world that takes digital pictures of the participants, so that their matches are easily recalled from the pool of daters.

   Singles spend on an average $42 per night when they go out to singles bars and dance clubs, according to a survey conducted by the organization. The 4-Minute Date is affordable and is definitely worth it.    The 4-Minute Dates inaugural event in the Columbia area is to be held at Damons Restaurant in The Vista Columbia on June 3rd at 6:30 pm. The age group is for singles in their 20s and 30s.
