HumanCentric Technologies Adds Senior Scientist

Cary-based human factors company hires new senior staff member.

Cary, N.C. (PRWEB) May 28, 2003 -- HumanCentric Technologies, Inc., a design research and product development company, announces today that Dr. Michael Maddox joins the staff as senior scientist. A 20-year veteran of the human factors profession, he supplements the firms significant expertise within product and complex system research, design and testing services.

Prior to joining HumanCentric, Maddox owned Sisyphus Associates, an independent consultancy firm for 15 years, where he partnered with clients like FedEx, Ericsson, Abbott Diagnostics, Texas Instruments, Pfizer and Samsung on human factors analysis and evaluation.

As our services expand, Mike brings additional scientific depth and strength to our clients, particularly in our growth across the medical and legal sectors. Im proud to have Mike on our team," says Barry Beith, president of HumanCentric Technologies.

Promoting human error reduction within hospital systems and bringing human performance data to lawyers will be two key areas of focus for Maddox. Each of these areas can benefit greatly from incorporating human factors and usability into their processes.

Maddox received his doctorate, masters and bachelors degrees from Virginia Tech. His doctorate degree, completed in 1979, is in industrial engineering and human factors. With considerable experience within the nuclear industry, his background also includes stints with the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) as a human factors expert and as a senior scientist for Search Technology, an Atlanta-based R&D firm.

Maddox is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) and was one of the first human factors professionals to be certified by the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics (BCPE).
