SAN DIEGO, Cal. (PRWEB) May 26, 2003 -- santex-net, a San Diego-based international e-marketing design studio, has earned a place on the American Design Awards winners list.

The American Design Awards Inc. (www.americandesingawards.com), a professional organization with more than 12,000 members world wide, introduced the design competition in 2000. Today, the contests are considered among the most respected in the design industry.

Entries are invited from individual designers, design firms, ad agencies and corporations, according to Art Javid, ADAs creative director. Judges for the competition -- officers of the ADA and may include outside design professionals -- selected santex-net.com as one of just 69 winners from a field of 718 competitors, with submissions from 24 countries.

Entries are judged in three areas: actual design and creativity; effectiveness of the Web site; and originality. "The santex-net.com HTML site is clean and approachable," Javid said. "The menu structure and ease of navigation are a definite plus, and the colors are simple and corporate."

According to Juan C. Santiago, president/CEO of santex, the judges evaluation is what the team wanted to hear. "Our target market is the high-end corporate community, companies that want to capture a well-defined niche, growing e-commerce enterprises and businesses on the move. The judges validated that the site accomplishes what we set out to do and that it reaches out to our target groups."

The santex-net site competed in a field dominated by flash presentations, such as the Chicago-based www.five73.com and the www.thinkingcouch.com entry from Singapore. "Its very unusual, Id even say rare, for an HTML to successfully compete with flash entries, especially ones of this caliber," said Santiago, who launched the site just one week before submitting it to the competition. "We designed it as a snapshot of who we are and what we do, and we felt confident enough to submit it before the release of our new V0.8 flash presentation later this year. The ADA award says we were right."

Santiago is co-founder of the firm that began to weave the Web in 1999. In addition to the ADA award, santex-net holds three Golden Web awards for excellence in web design from the International Association of Web Masters and Designers, the industrys highest recognition, plus first place in a high-end German magazines advertising competition for the Deutsche Oper Berlin ad that appears throughout the Berlin subway system.
