Teixera Promises Democratic Majority this Decade
Newton, MA (PRWEB) May 21, 2003 -- Ben Tafoya and Dennis Tafoya co-hosts of The Emerging Majority, a new radio program adding a politically progressive voice to metro Boston, announced that the show has booked more news making guests. This week for our show airing May 30, 2003 and June 1 we will be joined by Ruy Teixera, co-author with John B. Judis of the acclaimed book 'The Emerging Democratic Majority. " says Ben Tafoya.
Teixera and Judis have written a provocative work about how demographics, politics and geography speak well for a roaring progressive comeback this decade. The two parties have been on very close and competitive ground for the 2000 and 2002 elections. Their book makes a persuasive case that the balance will tip toward the democrats as the decade progresses." adds Dennis Tafoya.
In the book the authors argue that the Republican Party has increasingly come under the leadership of its most conservative elements. The leadership has taken policy in radical directions that are contrary to the opinions of the majority of the voting population.
Upcoming guests on May 29, 2003 include Ruy Texeira, author of the important work The Emerging Democratic Majority". He will join the brothers for a discussion of the future of the Democratic Party and the progressive issues that resonate with voters.
The show, which debuted on April 11, 2003, aims to create an on-air community for people who are passionate about economic democracy, peaceful foreign policy and human rights. The brothers have had business careers of twenty years each in the technology sector. "We think we have a unique approach to progressive politics based on working in the private sector for so long", says Dennis Tafoya. "We want to invite the community in Eastern Massachusetts to join a conversation about politics, film, literature and the arts that has been going on between us for most of our lives."
The Tafoya's also offer their nominations for Goat of the Week and Hero of the Week recognizing individuals who have contributed to recent news. The shows conclude with The End Times offering the personal views of the hosts on books, films, music and the arts of interest to the progressive community.
Each Friday the show can be heard on WBNW 1120 AM and WPLM 1390 AM at 1:00 pm and again Sundays at 2:00 PM, as well as through the internet at www.theemergingmajority.com .
