The longest running musical in the world comes to Los Alamitos for a four week limited engagement at the brand new WestEnd Dinner Theatre. The Fantasticks," based on Edmond Rostand's 1894 play Les Romanesques," tells an age-old tale of young love; a simple story of a boy, a girl and their fathers who plot to get them together by keeping them apart. Its ingredients are simple: the stage is a wooden platform, its scenery a tattered cardboard moon. With eight actors, a piano and a room full of imagination, the author and composer have managed to bring to life a funny and quite touching story of innocence - and of knowledge. The memorable score includes Soon Its Gonna Rain," They Were You," Never Say No", Much More," and the timeless Try to Remember."
