Awards Top 50 Science and Technology Web Sites

Tuesday, May 27, 2003 -- ScientificAmerican.com, the Online component of Scientific American magazine, unveils its third annual Sci/Tech Web Awards 2003 -- naming 50 of the best Web resources for those seeking information on science and technology. ScientificAmerican.com will post the awardees and links to the winning sites.

The Sci/Tech Web Awards 2003 covers ten categories of interest -- archeology and paleontology; astronomy and astrophysics; biology; chemistry; earth and environment; engineering and technology; mathematics; medicine; physics and great thinkers.

Within each category, there are links to the editors pick of the top five sites, along with a brief description. There is no fee to access the list or the various sites. Scientific American editors reviewed over a thousand web sites and selected the 50 they deemed the most valuable science and technology resources. Among the sites listed are:
