(PRWEB) May 31, 2003 -game at Origins 2003, held June 26-29 in Columbus, Ohio. Over 25 game publishing companies (including Steve Jackson Games, Venatic Games, and Eight Foot Llama) are working together to make this exciting event a fun-for-all success.

"Although the game was originally intended as a promotion of our 'FraudSquad' card game, it has evolved into something much greater." remarks Diet Evil Games President Anye Sellers. "The Origins Stock Exchange has become an opportunity for several of the game companies to work together to promote awareness of our games and expose gamers to products and companies they may not yet be knowledgeable about."

In this game, participants choose $1000 worth of game company "stock" from our pseudo-stock exchange. "Buying" a stock increases its share value, whereas "Selling" a stock decreases it. Each day of the con the adjusted stock values will be posted at Exchange HQ (the Game Publishers Association booth #958). They may then trade shares once per day in an effort to have the highest valued holdings by noon on the 29th. Players can improve their holdings by attending demonstrations and events hosted by companies listed on the exchange; these companies will be giving out extra "shares" to their participants.

Prizes will be awarded to the ten players with the highest share value, as well as several other special prizes. The participating companies have offered prize donations worth several hundred dollars total. This game is open to all convention goers except for game publishing company employees and their families.
