The new product line includes features such as TFT LCD panel, DCDi Technology by Faroudja and innovative industrial design to provide a truly unique and enjoyable viewing experience. The VU29 is scheduled for introduction in late June 2003.

This sleek new VU 29 unit has a 29-inch screen size that provides exceptional color accuracy and crisp pictures that can be seen from anywhere in the room.

The VU 29 unit features a state-of-the art TV grade LCD screen that provides a better dynamic response, viewing angle and contrast ratio. The screen utilizes Ultra-High Aperture TFT (UHA TFT), LCD panel technology that delivers extremely wide viewing angles (170 degrees H/V & 170 degrees L/R - using SVA technology) and an exceptionally high contrast ratio of 600:1.

Additional enhancements such as DCDi (Direct Correlational Deinterlacing) provided by Emmy Award winning Faroudja technology to produce a smoother more natural image and Motion Adaptive Cross color suppression to remove "false color" artifacts produced by improper Y/C separation in low cost video decoders provide for a superior viewing experience.

The VU 29 unit has also been designed to meet SoundSpace audio performance. 20W of output power combined with the ncorporation of SRS WOW (SRS TruBass, SRS and SRS FOCUS) technology, offers superior improvement to the width, height and depth of any stereo image. SRS TruBass ensures a deep, rich bass without the need for a subwoofer while sophisticated processing does not color the mid range or create bass not present on the original recording. SRS sound creates a fully immersive 3D sound listening experience while SRS FOCUS electronically raises the sound stage from the speaker location to the optimal position.

An innovative industrial design was employed to ensure an overall aesthetic design while at the same time maintaining viewing flexibility. The VU 29 unit incorporates a cast metal base, a back sprayed acrylic injection molded lens with a rolled metal chrome finish and a Gas Spring hinge mechanism that provides variable height
adjustment and easy left/right and up/down adjustment. Whether using the integrated "Torch" stand or mounted on a wall, the VU 29 unit provides an overall aesthetically pleasant viewing experience.

The VU 29 unit also includes a built-in flash media card slot that is compatible with two types of removable memory cards: Compact Flash and Smart media. This will allow for viewing digital photographs in bright, vivid color, without the need to connect to a PC. The photos can either be viewed individually, as a slide show or in an index view to display all the pictures at once. Now showing digital photos is as easy as turning on the television and inserting a media card into the slot. The VU 29 unit also comes with a Radio Frequency (RF) or Infra Red (IR) remote control. RF does not require line of sight to operate and is therefore extremely flexible. The remote control comes with 43 keys.
