Harlem Consumer Education Council, Inc. will sponsor a workshop entitled: INSURANCE FRAUD: THE CRIME YOU PAY FOR" on Friday, June 27, 2003 from 10:00 AM to 12 NOON. The workshop will be held at the Harlem State Office Building, located at 163 West 125th Street, New York, New York, near the corner of 7th Avenue (Malcolm X Blvd.). The sessions will convene at Windows Over Harlem, which is on the third (3rd) floor. Co-hosting this event will be the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud, New York State Attorney General, and Representatives of the New York State Department of Insurance have been invited to participate at this forum.
The purpose of this workshop is to educate and inform New York consumers about why they are paying some of the highest insurance rates in the nation and how they can fight back. Invited presenters will educate consumers on how to avoid being a victim of insurance fraud and what needs to be done to go after those who commit insurance fraud.
