With heart-warming tales of rescue, www.SaveSamoa.org was created to inspire all of us to rescue those animals that just appear in our lives and to provide the resources necessary to do so!

Thursday May 29, 2003: www.SaveSamoa.org is more than just an animal story website. It is the culmination of a nationwide effort to rescue the target of a negative editorial written about a stray cat in Amarillo, Texas (whose picture adorns our banner). Inspired by the successful rescue of this cat, branded Osama" by the journalist and renamed Samoa" by the rescuers, www.SaveSamoa.org provides a place where anyone who has rescued an animal can share that story. The aim of the site is not only to inspire those who encounter animals in need of assistance, but also to arm caring individuals with the necessary knowledge and resources to accomplish their goals.

In addition to the many poignant tales of rescue, the site provides resources to assist with stray pet or feral cat rescue. www.SaveSamoa.org promotes non-lethal methods of animal control, and provides links to resources aimed at locating no-kill shelters, information for aiding feral cats and feral cat colonies, and locating veterinarians and programs nationwide that provide low-cost spay/neuter services.
