New patented guides for the boss

Iemca presents new MDI polyester bar guides on its BOSS bar loader, capable of reducing noise levels by 20% and recommended for profiled bars too.

Every time that IEMCA introduces an innovation to its bar feeders, it presents a new way of looking at the very function of the new device.

After years of testing, the BOSS bar loader will soon feature a brand new guide made from MDI-polyester (completely interchangeable with the current guide channel).

The design for the new guide developed in two directions: on the one hand, the study of new polymeric materials led to the development of a blend especially suited to resisting the wear caused by rotating bars; on the other, a totally-new guide shape that culminated in an industrial patent.

The shape -- a completely closed circular section -- enhances lathe performance to an unprecedented degree, while reducing noise levels by over 20%.

The new guides are particularly recommended for shaped bars, as well as bars that must not show signs of any surface wear.
One of the companies collaborating with IEMCA in design tests for the new guide was the TAAB turnery of S. Sofia, FC (see page 12).
