Businesses may be hampered by individual applications inability to apply protection to any data files other than their own. However, the business may need to apply consistent protection policies to multiple applications data sets conveniently and comprehensively. Applying identical archiving policies to the data managed by different applications provides the greatest level of compliance to regulatory mandates and corporate directives.

Zero-impact Protection
ShieldWorx is fully transparent and does not impact the administrators ability to use business critical tools such as encryption and compression. ShieldWorx use also does not affect

1 Protect Shared Data
Archive and/or reference data must often be made available for inspection, with no danger of alteration. ShieldWorx makes this easy. A volume can be rendered into a Read-Only state, preventing any modifications to the files and directories while allowing read access by the users whose credentials are authenticated and enforced by the file system, as usual.

e-WORM
With its data protection capability, ShieldWorx can render a hard disk volume to behave as an archive device. New files can be created on the volume at the same time that ShieldWorx prevents any modification to any file on the volume - including the newly created files. This capability greatly enhances Record management solutions as well as Electronic Content Management. This is true electronic write once, read many (e-WORM) functionality.
