POLICY STUDIES INC. NAMED MC+ MANAGED MISSOURI CARE HEALTH BENEFITS MANAGER, OPENS NEW OFFICE IN JEFFERSON CITY

PSI will provide enrollment and education support to families and individuals eligible for MC+ Managed Care.

Denver, CO - Policy Studies Inc. (PSI) will begin helping eligible Missourians enroll in MC+ managed care plans July 1, 2003, as the States new Health Benefits Manager for the Managed Care Program.

Missouri is nationally recognized for developing one of the most successful managed care programs for Medicaid recipients in the country. PSI is very pleased to have the opportunity to partner with this group of innovative State administrators," said David Ashby, Senior Vice President of PSIs Health Services. PSI is leasing office space in Jefferson City and hiring customer service representatives, enrollment counselors, programmers, marketing staff, mail specialists, and administrative personnel over the next six weeks.

The Missouri MC+ Managed Care program enrolls eligible MC+ recipients in one of seven comprehensive, managed health care plans that contract with the State to provide medical benefits. The success of MC+ has helped move Missouri from its 27th-place national ranking for covering the uninsured to seventh. Over 420,000 people are enrolled in MC+ Managed Care as of April 2003.

PSI will provide enrollment and education support to families and individuals eligible for MC+ Managed Care. PSI is implementing an information system that will automate enrollment and customer service activities. The system will also display and publish information about participating healthcare providers, enabling PSI Enrollment Counselors to give MC+ Managed Care eligible children and families information on provider affiliation and availability by health plan.

PSIs history as the State Child Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) administrator in Colorado, Florida and Georgia provides us with the experience to offer enrollment services for Missouris MC+ Managed Care population," Ashby said.
