CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) June 2, 2003 -- Ephraim Martin, president of Martin's Inter-Culture announced today the addition of legendary Soul singer Percy Sledge and direct from Jamaica, the Third World Band, joining Lucky Dube and some 70 other performers at the 11th annual International Festival of Life to be held on July 3rd through 6th, 2003 at Chicagos Washington Park.
Percy Sledge came to the fore in the 60s with his very first recording When A Man Loves A Woman" (Atlantic Records), which became the first Gold record for Atlantic records. Also known as the Golden Voice of Soul", Sledge, followed the magnificent anthem with the hit songs Warm And Tender Love", Take Time To Know Her", and Cover Me".
Third World band is one of Jamaicas finest, with a huge and loyal fan base across the globe. Best known for their 1977 hit 98 degrees In The Shade" they have been performing for over 25 years. The band lead by Stephen Cat" Coore, have recorded more than 18 albums, their new release is Aint Giving Up" (Shanachie Records). The new album features guest appearances by Julian Lennon, Glenn Washington, and Lady Saw.

Created in 1993, the International Festival of Life is a division of Martins Inter-Culture, and the brainchild of Mr. Ephraim Martin, who is also the founder and organizer of the Chicago Music Awards and the International Reggae & World Music Awards both in their 22nd year.
