ESY, Web publishing system for small/medium enterprises and non-profit organisations.

WebsiteProjects recently launched ESY 1.0, an innovative web publishing and content management solution specifically addressed to SME's.

ESY 1.0 combines a WYSIWYG user-interface, powerful user management utilities and open-source development standards. ESY enables organisations to easily update dynamic content for end-users; allows content editors to efficiently manage workflow, and reduce IT involvement in day-to-day publishing activities.

Organisations are increasingly realising new benefits and cost-savings from content management systems that can manage their communications infrastructure. ROI on an average Intranet deployment ranges from 100-1000% (Gartner Group, Oct. 2001). Database-driven technologies have allowed organisations to offer updated information via their enterprise portals to their network of staff, vendors, investors and targeted end-users, but the issue still remained, who would update the database and how would they do it?

The number one concern amongst 3,500 global companies is "better usability" from their content management systems (Forrester Research, June 2002).

A new breed of user-focused content management solutions have arrived that focus upon all end-users from content contributors to IT staff to web surfers. In the past, costly IT staff was burdened with repetitive and mundane tasks to manually update content. Alleviating these content bottllenecks and IT mismanagement is critical to the success of any content management deployment.

Moving forward, industry experts agree that no single content management solution will fulfil the needs of all organisations. Therefore, flexible and open-source solutions are in order. Organisations must adapt solutions that are ultimately re-adaptable to changing market opportunities and challenges.

Content contributors, previously left out of the actual process of updating content, had no tools to do their job efficiently. New solutions have arrived to enable users with no coding knowledge access to a WYSIWYG set of publishing utilities that allow them to access and update the database via their web-browsers (no client-side software required). They can also effortlessly create hyperlinks, format text and upload and place images, Word files, PDF documents, etc.
