TAOS, Inc. Hires Market Specialists to Expand Depth, Breadth of Company's Marketing Scope
TAOS Market Specialists Will Focus on Optoelectronic Sensor Opportunities within Automotive, Consumer, Industrial and Medical Markets
Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions(R), Inc. (TAOS) today announced the hiring of three market specialists as part of its plan to expand the depth and breadth of the company's marketing scope. The company also announced that it has identified four specific markets -- automotive, consumer, industrial and medical -- as offering the best growth potential for optoelectronic sensors. Each of the new TAOS market specialists will concentrate on developing sales within one of these key markets and/or pinpointing applications for strategic TAOS products within all four of these markets.
William E. (Bill) Holland brings almost two decades of automotive experience to his position as the TAOS automotive market specialist. Holland joined Electronic Sales & Engineering, Inc., a manufacturers representative firm based in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1984. During his 18 1/2-year tenure, Holland was directly responsible for developing various in-depth programs for major automotive suppliers such as Delphi, Bosch and Cummins Engine. Many of these programs focused specifically on automotive sensors. As an Electronic Sales & Engineering, Inc. vice president, Holland oversaw the activities of the company's Detroit, MI office. In this capacity, Holland developed the company's strategic direction for servicing the automotive market. In the global market arena, Holland developed suppliers in the Far East to address specific automotive requirement needs. Holland was graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1983.
A 17-year veteran of Texas Instruments, Ray King brings a broad range of electronics industry experience to his position as the TAOS medical and biometrics market specialist. In 1985, King joined the Texas Instruments Defense Electronics Group (now Raytheon) and spent nine years designing control systems and performing system-level integration testing in the Missile Systems Division. In 1994, King joined the TI Mixed Signal Semiconductor Group as a product marketing and applications engineer. Over the next eight years, King applied his data converter expertise to enhance the TI position in numerous markets including modems, temperature and fan control for personal computers, and portable audio players. King also developed product line strategies that identified the need for new devices along with recommendations for launching these products. In one case, King was part of a team that took a product line, which was two years behind the competition, and developed it into a $40 million per year revenue generator. King was graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1985. He also did post-graduate work in Electrical Engineering at Southern Methodist University.
Glenn W. Lee has over 16 years of experience in strategic corporate management, sales, marketing, operations and product development to help build momentum for new sales and marketing initiatives. Lee brings all this expertise for successfully bridging technology and business together to his new position as TAOS market specialist for strategic products. From 1999-2000, Dallas Business Journal named WBT, Inc. to its annual FastTech 50 list as one of the fastest growing technology companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. From 1993 through 1997, during Lee's tenure as COO, Informatics was recognized for five consecutive years as a Dallas 100 company for revenue growth.
