PurseStories.com is a collection of reminiscences about handbags and the significant roles they play in our lives. The wonderful, sad, weird, poignant, awful and delicious moments in our lives are often attached to the red purse I coveted in high school", to the the bag I carried the day I met the man I didnt marry" or to the purse I found after mom died."
http://www.PurseStories.com" target="_blank">PurseStories.com evolved from a collaboration between Mary Margaret Hansen and Weave Dance Company. Womans p a c e premiered at Stages Repertory Theater in Houston, TX in May 1999. In March 2000, Hansen participated in a group exhibition called Mama Said...Nine Interpretations" with Purse Stories, an installation of photo collages, stories and antique purses. The Houston Center For Photography sponsored the exhibition during FotoFest, The International Month of Photography.
PurseStories.com, was born so that a truly diverse and varied story collection becomes possible. The site provides opportunities to leave a quick email response, a story of a few lines or many pages and a photo illustration. Click on Community to forward the site address to friends, family, colleagues, book clubs, breakfast clubs, jogging partners and car pool members. Everyone has a purse story to tell.
