Mid-Atlantic Music Experience, July 11-13, 2003, Lewisburg, WV

The Mid-Atlantic Music Experience is a 3-day camping and music festival in Lewisburg, West Virginia. This three-day festival features over 20 acts performing on three different stages in a variety of genres including rock, jazz, funk, world, electronic, reggae, and bluegrass.

The inaugural Mid-Atlantic Music Experience is set to take place July 11-13, 2003 at the State Fair Event Center in Lewisburg, WV. Also known as MidX, this 3-day music festival will feature several of the nations most well-known touring acts, including two nights of Widespread Panic, two nights of moe., Medeski Martin & Wood, Rusted Root, The Disco Biscuits, Les Claypools Frog Brigade, Karl Densons Tiny Universe, Leftover Salmon, Cracker, Steel Pulse, Jerry Joseph & The Jackmormons, the New Deal, All Mighty Senators, The Recipe, The Hackensaw Boys, Clutch, Indecision and many more.

MidX has recently announced The Gonzo Filmfest and Voter Registration. This unique film festival component will feature documentary films such as Breakfast with Hunter, Scrapple, and The Earth Will Swallow You. The festival will also be setting up a voter registration booth and encouraging festival-goers to register and make their voices heard in the coming election year.

The State Fair Event Center offers 150 acres of woodland camping, a spacious music venue with two outdoor stages, and a large venue for late-night music. MidX will provide a wide variety of food and crafts vendors, beer tents, and plenty of special activities, including a Rhythm & Drumming Workshop by Rusted Roots Jim Donovan.

Tickets to the Mid-Atlantic Music Experience are currently $130 for a 3-day pass and $120 for a 2-day pass (Saturday and Sunday only). On Wednesday, July 2nd, prices will increase to $150 and $140, respectively. Single day passes for Sunday only will be offered in the near future. Special passes for RVs with hookups and other large vehicles are also available.
