Campaign for Camp Fire reaches Midpoint
Campaign for Camp Fire has reached the midpoint of the $9 million campaign.
Today, Lee Drechsel, the Chief Executive Officer of Camp Fire USA Central Puget Sound Council, announced the midpoint has been reached in the $9 million Campaign for Camp Fire. This major milestone was reached with more than 75 donations from current and former Camp Fire Board members, Camp Fire alumni, private foundations, corporations, and other friends.
I am ecstatic that we have such a broad base of community support to fund Camp Fires future and to give us the opportunity to further our mission in more communities throughout the Puget Sound region. This Campaign will help us to accomplish three essential goals: to renovate and transform Camp Sealth and Camp Niwana into year-round facilities, to provide for future maintenance and upkeep of our facilities, and to create a scholarship endowment so that all children who wish to participate in Camp Fire programs may do so. Our theme for the Campaign, Spark the Future," was carefully chosen to reflect what the communitys investment will do for our youth," said Lee Drechsel.
This is a very big year for Camp Fire as we launch into the second half of our Campaign," said Ann Hooper, Vice President, Private Client Group, U.S. Bank and Co-chair of the Campaign. Camp Sealth and Camp Niwana are irreplaceable assets; more than two million children have passed through their portals since the early 1920s. In order to meet the needs of the youth of the future, and to expand our environmental education program, we are making many improvements and creating an endowment to ensure the camps are well tended for many years to come."
