30,000 IT Jobs Available at IT Career Week 2003

Third annual IT Career Week planned this year for July 7-14; online event boasts free training courses, career services and more.

Pre-registration is now open for the 3rd annual IT Career Week, slated this year for July 7 --14. Major IT training companies, magazines and web sites have teamed up to provide IT certification training and career resources for free at www.ITCareerWeek.com. Professionals who register for the event by July 7 are automatically entered to win a new Dell PC.

The free event is sponsored again this year by SmartCertify Direct, Certification Magazine, Processor.com, GoCertify.com, ITtrainingstore.com, the Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP) and emedia. New sponsors include ComputerJobs.com, PC World Magazine, Computer-Concierge International, PC Utilities Magazine and IrishJobs.ie.

IT Career Week will boast a worldwide job search engine with nearly 30,000 IT job vacancies, resume posting and submitting services, free IT tools and utilities and technical information on the latest trends in the IT industry.

"The IT job market is stronger than ever. Thats evident by the number of job postings available at IT Career Week alone," said Jamie Sene, executive vice president of marketing at SmartCertify. "I would recommend that both IT hopefuls and IT veterans check out IT Career Week for the latest job openings."

A major feature of the event will be the chance for IT professionals to take certification training courses for free, including courses for Microsoft, CompTIA, Linux, CIW and Cisco software. According to sponsors, certification and lifelong training are a must for a successful IT career.

"Overall, certification aids salary increase. This is often directly an outcome of the certified individual being more productive, being able to solve problems faster, feeling more confident with their solutions, being more professional in the workplace and being more respected by clients by showing that they have the most current knowledge appropriate for the IT industry," said Kewal Dhariwal, executive director of ICCP.

The online event, all IT training courses and job search services are free for registered attendees. To register and for detailed information on the event visit www.ITCareerWeek.com.
