THE FINANCIAL ADVISOR COURSE SERIES LAUNCHED BY THE AMERICAN COLLEGE
New Self-Study Courses Designed to Educate Financial Services Professionals. The American College announced today the launch of the first in a series of new knowledge-based self study courses designed to meet the educational needs of financial services professionals. The Financial Advisor (FA) course series will focus on strengthening effective sales and presentation skills and increasing specific product knowledge. The first course in the FA series, "FA 255 Essentials of Long-Term Care Insurance," covers a variety of topics associated with selling long-term care insurance including the use of fact-finding questions, understanding the wide range of available policies and designing customized plans that meet both clients needs and budgets.

The first course in the FA series, FA 255 Essentials of Long-Term Care Insurance, was released in May of 2003. The curriculum for this initiative is based on a new series of Financial Advisor textbooks created by the College. Textbooks in this new series will fall into one of three categories: Sales Skills Techniques, Product Essentials, and Planning Foundations.
Our client companies have identified professional education in these three main areas as an important part of meeting the needs of todays enlightened consumer," continued Weese. These new courses address the core concepts in these three areas, targeting specific subjects for training purposes. The Financial Advisor series complements the Colleges current offerings and promotes an educational foundation for ongoing professional development and success."
In addition to the FA series, professionals interested in more in-depth education can enroll in one of The American Colleges certificate, designation or degree programs as a means of gaining more specialized technical knowledge. All courses in the FA series will be filed for continuing education credit and will conclude with an online proctored examination. Tuition is $300 for each course and includes all study materials and the online examination.
