FOX'S MITSY WILSON TO BE HONORED

10th Anniversary Striving for Excellence Awards honoring top broadcast professionals, diverse television shows and corporations.

Long-time supporter and previous honoree Sam Donaldson of ABC News, past honorees Cokie Roberts of ABC News and Rick Garcia of Fox11/UPN 13 will chair the 10th Anniversary, "Striving for Excellence Awards and Benefit Dinner." The dinner is scheduled for September 26, 2003 at the Regent Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, CA.

The "Striving for Excellence Awards and Benefit Dinner" recognizes corporate, broadcast and entertainment professionals who strive to make a difference in their communities.

Mitsy Wilson is our newest honoree. Mitsy is Senior Vice President of Diversity Development for Fox Broadcasting Company. Ms. Wilson is responsible for development, execution and evaluation of all diversity initiatives across Fox, one of the four most powerful television networks, and also 20th Century Fox Television. Ms. Wilson is working on achieving key Fox-specific diversity goals launched following discussions with the NAACP, National Latino Media Council, Asian Pacific American Coalition and American Indians in Film and Television. She has also served as Vice President, Leadership and Organizational Development, Diversity, for the Times-Mirror Company. She has also been Director, Counseling and Special Projects, for the New York Board of Education.

Mitsy joins fellow honorees Ralph Farquhar, creator of Disney's, "The Proud Family," "Moesha" and "The Parkers," along with Julie Chen of "The Early Show" and "Big Brother." NBC's SCRUBS will also be honored for their diverse story lines and characters. Platinum recording artist Brandy will perform and serve as a presenter. (Other news media honorees still pending).

The (Minorities in) MIBTP/Broadcasting Training Program is a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization formed to provide training to minority college graduates in radio and television news reporting and news management.
