Kabu Okai-Davies, Founder and Executive Director of African Globe TheatreWorks, notes that, This is one of the biggest risks our company will be taking in its 10-year history. At a time when many arts organizations are shrinking we seem to be expanding. Performing at Crossroads Theatre is exciting and scary at the same time, but it is a risk we believe is worth taking. Hopefully the success of this experience will motivate us to start thinking about setting up a mini season of weekend shows at Crossroads starting in September 2003."
African Globe TheatreWorks produced a hit run of 27 plus performances of You Shouldnt Have Told at Newark Symphony Hall in March and April 2003, having both morning and evening shows. You Shouldnt Have Told received rave reviews in the Star-Ledger in March 2003 that sparked overwhelming community support for the programs message. On the cusp of the Williams Boys tragedy in Newark, NJ, You Shouldnt Have Told delivered a timely message of child abuse prevention to audiences filled with the Essex and Hudson County social service agencies, schools, churches, addiction recovery facilities, and youth outreach organizations.

Reviews
It's a play that starts off like a cyclone before reaching hurricane strength. Then it
becomes a dramatic tornado. It only occasionally takes a pause, but each turns out
to be a small calm before the next big storm."
- Peter Filichia, The Star Ledger
These are certainly not 'The Jeffersons. And yet, in the midst of the caustic dialogue, Thompson-Scretching manages to infuse the work with more humor than an entire weekend's worth of that sitcom on a Nick-at-Nite marathon."
- Peter Filichia, The Star Ledger
