BRIARCLIFFE COLLEGE ANNOUNCES CRIMINAL JUSTICE DEGREE PROGRAM

Patchogue, NY (PRWEB) -- Briarcliffe College today announced that it has received state approval for an Associate of Science Criminal Justice. The program will start on July 8, 2003 and will be offered at Briarcliffes Nassau and Suffolk campuses. Structured to our evolving American society, the program is specifically designed to allow concentrations in either law enforcement or corrections, aligned with an academic foundation. Facilitated with practical experience, the Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice will prepare students within two years to effectively enter law enforcement, courts and corrections careers. This is another vital step in the expansion of our degree program offerings at the college," said Neal Raisman, Ph.D., Chancellor, Nassau campus.

Curriculum will include criminology, the justice system, crime and loss prevention and corrections. The goal of the program is to prepare graduates with the appropriate knowledge, skills and background to pursue a meaningful career in Criminal Justice and related professions.

The inception of this program is revolutionary to the higher education programs that Briarcliffe College is deeply committed to bringing to our Long Island students and communities. We believe that this program will empower those individuals interested in law enforcement disciplines to pursue roles dedicated to serving our local areas," said Lynn D. Salvage, President, Suffolk campus.

Briarcliffe College was founded over 35 years ago with a single goal: to meet the career-oriented higher education needs of its students, preparing them for success in the business world. Conveniently located in both Nassau and Suffolk counties and accessible by expressways, parkways and public transportation, both Briarcliffe campuses enjoy both the natural beauty of Long Island and the enriching cultural experiences of New York City.
