AlmerSoft has released AlmerBackup v. 3.0, a Windows backup application that makes it easy to create regular backups of your critical documents and data. AlmerBackup eliminates the time, expense, and agony of losing critical files due to software problems, hardware crashes, and power outages. Simply identify your critical files and tell the built-in scheduler how frequently you want to perform backups, and AlmerBackup will do all of the work, unattended.

AlmerBackup performs the standard functions expected of backup software, including scheduled backups and archival backups in compressed formats. In addition to performing simple file copies and moves, the program can delete out-of-date files from the destination directory, and remove copied files from the source directory. It can back up to any resources on a network, including floppy and hard drives, network drives, your FTP-server, and removable drives including Zip, JAZ, SyQuest, CD-R, and CD-RW drives. AlmerBackup can automatically back up a set of files at system startup, system shutdown, or on any user-defined schedule. As an additional security measure, a log file is kept that records all of AlmerBackup's actions.

New features in v. 3.1 include password protection with data compression, the ability to back up to CD-R and CD-RW drives, and an easy-to-use Restoration Wizard.
