New Board of Directors Announced. Digison elected Chairman, Westendorf assumes role as President & CEO.

MIDLAND, MI (PRWEB) June 8, 2003 -- MidlandHockey.com, the website dedicated to further developing the sport of hockey in Midland, announced today the directors who will serve on the new MidlandHockey.com Board of Directors.

"These directors bring tremendous talent and experience to help guide MidlandHockey.com," said Michael A. Westendorf, former Chairman of the website. "This board will help us build on MidlandHockey.coms combined strengths and maximize our opportunities. The strength of this board is representative of the way we are shaping MidlandHockey.com for growth and success in the future."

The MidlandHockey.com Board of Directors has elected Scott A. Digison, Chairman of the Board. Digison is an inline hockey coach, an ice hockey parent, and an inline hockey parent. As a coach in the Midland Inline Hockey League, Digison has won a record eight MIHL championships, the most of any coach or player, as well as being the winningest coach in MIHL history. His two sons, Caleb and Elliott , are number one and two respectively on the MIHLs all-time point list and play in the Midland Amateur Hockey League. Caleb holds the MIHL records for most points all-time, most assists all-time, most goals all-time, most points (10) in a game (a feat in which he has accomplished twice) , and is the youngest player to win the leagues coveted MVP Trophy. Elliott holds the MIHL records for most points in a game (10), most goals in a game (10), most goals in a season (62), and most points in a season (67). As an ice hockey parent, Digison cheered his son, Caleb, on to the District 5 pee wee B championship game in Flint, MI. A game in which they won in the fourth overtime.

The MidlandHockey.com Board of Directors also voted to elect Michael A. Westendorf, President & CEO of the website. Westendorf will be responsible for the day to day operations and the daily content that appears on the website. Westendorf is an inline hockey referee, an ice hockey official, an inline hockey player, and an inline hockey coach. Currently, Westendorf is a certified inline hockey referee with USA Hockey Inline and a level one ice hockey official with USA Hockey. For ice, Westendorf has officiated one season in Midland and is a level one official. For inline, Westendorf has officiated 21 seasons in the Midland Inline Hockey League, two international tournaments, an NHL Rules regional tournament in Detroit, the 2003 USA Hockey Inline Regional Championships where he officiated the 17-Under championship game, and is selected to officiate the 2004 National Championships. Westendorf is currently the Director of Officiating for the Midland Inline Hockey League. As an inline hockey player, Westendorf won one MIHL championship, the 2001 Summer scoring title, and the 2001 Summer Prestige Trophy.

Travis Gerulski will be the Executive Vice President of MidlandHockey.com. Gerulski is an inline hockey referee and an inline hockey player. As a player, Gerulski was on the 2001 Winter Maple Leafs, widely considered one of the best teams in MIHL history. Gerulski finished the season second in points behind teammate Chad Church. During the season, the Maple Leafs never lost a game and set an MIHL record that still stand for the lowest GAA for a single season with 2.125. Gerulski is also a level two senior official for the Midland Inline Hockey League.

Aaron Enszer was elected Vice President of Inline Hockey for MidlandHockey.com by the Board. Enszer is an inline hockey player and an inline hockey coach. As a coach, Enszer won an MIHL championship in 2002 Summer. As a player, Enszer has won two MIHL championships and one scoring title. Known as one of the most offensively talented players in the history of the MIHL, Enszer finished the season with most points in 2002 Winter with 21. Enszer is currently President of MidlandInlineHockey.com and is the sixth leading scorer in MIHL history.

Other Directors include Robbin Pangborn, Mike Dizer, and Frank King, Sr. Pangborn is an ice hockey parent an inline hockey parent, and an inline hockey coach. As a coach in the Midland Inline Hockey League, Pangborn was one of the first women to fulfill that role. Pangborns son, Maxon Mashue is the fourth leading scorer in MIHL history and a player in the Midland Amateur Hockey League. Mashue has won two MIHL championships and is a two-time scoring champion finishing with most points in 2000 Winter and 2001 Winter. In 2003 Winter, Maxon Mashue won the leagues coveted MVP Trophy. He is also the owner of two MidlandInlineHockey.com e-Awards for Best Defence. As an ice hockey parent, Pangborn cheered her son, Maxon , on to the District 5 pee wee B championship game in Flint, MI. They won in the fourth overtime and were crowned district champions.

Dizer is an inline hockey parent. Dizer has three children that play in the Midland Inline Hockey League; Matthew Dizer, who is 77th in all-time scoring with thirteen goals, seventeen assists, and thirty points; Jonathan Dizer, who is 176th in all-time scoring with seven goals, three assists, and ten points; and Kimberly Dizer, who is 239th in all-time scoring with three goals, two assists, and five points.

King is an inline hockey parent. Kings son Frank is one of the greatest players to ever play in the Midland Inline Hockey League. With the second most all-time assists at 57, King won the 2002 Fall Most Valuable Player Trophy. King also has 122 goals, fifth all-time, and 179 points, fourth all-time. Finishing second in points two times, once to Brian Bruman, and the other to Caleb Digison, King finally won his first and only scoring title in the fall of 2002 along with an MIHL championship.

The new MidlandHockey.com Board of Directors will assume administrative control of MidlandHockey.com effective June 1, 2003.
