Mashue wins second consecutive "Most Valuable Player Trophy", becomes first player to win trophy multiple times.

MIDLAND, MI (PRWEB) June 8, 2003 --- Maxon Mashue was awarded the Most Valuable Player Trophy" as the Midland Inline Hockey Leagues most valuable player Wednesday night marking the first time in league history a player has won the trophy two seasons in a row as well as the first time a player has won the trophy multiple times. Mashue beat out top players such as Caleb Digison and Mike Jezowski to claim the silverware, which is the leagues most coveted trophy and award.

Mashue finished the season with a league leading 35 points and won his third scoring title, the second-most of any player. Averaging 3.25 goals a game throughout the season, Mashue lead the Sharks to a second place 5-2-1 record.

Inducted into the MIHL Hall of Fame, Mashue is the third leading scorer in the history of the league with 180 points. A three-time scoring champion, Mashue has two MIHL championships and two e-Awards for Best Defence, one e-Award for Best Forward, and one e-Award for Best Player.

Mashue is just the fourth recipient of the trophy, which is awarded to the player adjudged to be the most valuable to his/her team, since its donation at the end of the 2002 Summer season. The silver and gold trophy, standing twenty inches in total height atop a tiered walnut base, was donated to the Midland Inline Hockey League by MidlandHockey.com President and CEO, Michael Westendorf. Previous winners include Caleb Digison, Frank King, and Kevin Alcott.
