Unemployment: An Unlikely Gift to a Father (A great Father's Day story)

Father writes a book after being inspired by staying home with his three small children. Published by Sun Creek Books. "From the Heart of a Father," was conceived after author Bill Johnson was caught up in the wave of downsizing and cutbacks that gripped the Northern Virginia area over the course of the last two years. Faced with the challenge of looking for a new job, but with the opportunity of being able to spend even more time with his three sons, Johnson wrote about the clearer values in his life that he has always tried to live out; faith, hope, compassion, marriage, and children. In the book, Johnson interweaves parables, personal letters, and inspirational insight that offers uplifting messages on faith, fatherhood and family.

Unemployment: An Unlikely Gift to a Father
(A great Fathers Day story)

ASHBURN, VA: William Johnson, Ashburn resident and father of three young sons, recently had his first book published which is entitled, "From the Heart of a Father." This book, published through Sun Creek Books is a series of fictional inspirational stories wrapped around "love" letters that Johnson wrote to his young sons. Throughout the book, he poignantly connects many of his own fathering experiences with spiritual and meaningful life experiences of others.

"From the Heart of a Father," was conceived after Johnson was caught up in the wave of downsizing and cutbacks that gripped the Northern Virginia area over the course of the last two years. Although Johnson had worked in the area 17 years and had numerous contacts, the economic environment was prohibitive in finding a new job. Faced with the challenge of looking for a new job, but with the opportunity of being able to spend even more time with his sons, Johnson was able to write about the clearer values in his life that he has always tried to live out; faith, hope, compassion, marriage, and children. Although, it was financially challenging, no amount of money would make Johnson give back that time of unemployment and the gift he received of time with his small children.

"From the Heart of a Father," instills a simple message of purpose for fathers. "If my life were to end today," he wrote, "have I communicated to my children what they mean to me and how important they are in my life? Have I communicated to my children a clear message of what values I hope to instill in them? Whether one is a mother or a father, successful or unemployed, sick or healthy, "From the Heart of a Father," addresses the most basic question from one of the most challenging, but often overlooked and under appreciated jobs in society today.

Please contact author for upcoming television appearances and book signings. Books available at Books-A-Million, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.
