Excitement over Harry Potter's newest adventure fueling children's interest in attending Wizard School

Flying on a broom, levitating objects and making goblins appear are some of the tricks taught in Andrew Mayne's new teaching video, "Wizard School".

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) June 10, 2003 - With the fifth Harry Potter book due in less than two weeks, millions of school children have already got at least one summer activity planned out. But don't be too surprised if you see that some children have decided to take their fascination with all things related to wizards a step further by taking to the air on brooms. The FAA has nothing to worry about. This style of broom flying is limited to the living room.

Flying on a broom, levitating objects and making goblins appear are some of the tricks taught in Andrew Mayne's new teaching video, "Wizard School". Noticing children's excitement over the prospect of learning magic like their hero Harry Potter, Andrew Mayne decided to share his magical expertise by providing lessons on magic at his Wizard School. "All it takes is for a kid to find out that I'm a magician and they start begging to know how to get into Wizard School", says Andrew Mayne, producer and star of "Wizard School". "Making a video about a trip to a Wizard School where kids could actually learn to fly on a broom sounded like a lot of fun." The only problem Mayne says, was figuring out how to fly on a broom. "I had to invent a way. I spent weeks and weeks trying to figure out how to do it, then I had a brainstorm." Mayne tried the trick out on friends and an after school class of students he meets with every week to teach critical thinking. "The broom levitation worked beautifully. I had my centerpiece for the video".

Since Hogwart's admission process is still something of a mystery to muggles, "Wizard School" has proven to be a huge success. Mayne explains, "I already had to re-order the day I picked up the first run from the factory. Usually it takes six months for a magic video to sell out. This one went the first week the video was announced."

The video can be found at magic and jokes shops, Amazon.com and Mayne's own website; www.wizard-school.com. Visitors to his website can see a one-minute preview showing some of the feats of wizardry taught on the video.

Besides strong sales, Mayne says the initial feedback has been quiet positive. "I've got parents telling me that their children are watching the video over and over again like a Disney movie. I've even heard of some kids starting their own magic clubs so they can practice the magic on each other. A friend of my parents told me that her kid went out and bought his own broom expressly for levitating on", Mayne said.

Wizard School has turned out to be more popular than Mayne realized. Public television stations are running segments from the video during children's programming and a television series is currently in the works. More information on Andrew Mayne and his video "Wizard School" can be found at his website: www.wizard-school.com.
