INOVA Ronald McDonald House Landscape Day is a Success
Annandale, Va. -- Washington Metropolitan Chapter Community Associations Institute (WMCCAI) members donated their time and resources by landscaping the grounds of the Ronald McDonald House at INOVA Fairfax Hospital on Saturday, May 17, 2003.
This is the sixth year WMCCAI has organized such a successful charitable event, "Volunteer Landscaping Day", attracting volunteers who immersed themselves in the spirit of volunteerism. Volunteers included community association members and service provider members, as well as their friends and relatives who grabbed their shovels, rakes and trowels and cleaned the garden, planted flowers, and mulched the entire landscape of The Ronald
McDonald House.
This event would not have been accomplished without the expertise of Pine Ridge Landscaping, a WMCCAI member from Chantilly, Va., which donated all of the materials, plants, mulch, and tools to assist all volunteers who contributed to the blooming environment. The time and resources that these volunteers donated to the newly renovated grounds will help to bring comfort, build hope, and find strength for families of seriously ill children receiving care at the INOVA Fairfax Hospital.
