A Little Faith Leads to Great Success

Local Avon Representative Making a Difference in the Triangle Community

Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) June 11, 2003 -- After only three months as an Independent Avon Sales Representative, Joy Uvette Allen has already achieved great accomplishments in her home-based business. On November 9, Allen joined Avon to make some extra cash" and pay off bills from her September wedding. She never imagined that her new business endeavor would be so rewarding. With unit sales already exceeding $10,000, this Unit Leader, Certified Beauty Advisor, eRepresentative and Fund-Raiser Coordinator is well on her way to a rewarding business career.

In addition to a means of financial success, Allen has utilized her Avon business as a gateway to community service and involvement. For example, this active member of Raleigh International Church is a visual example of racial harmony and reconciliation. Her Avon unit, known as D.I.V.A. (Determination, Integrity, Virtue...Avon!) consists of 13 members with an interesting mix of backgrounds and experiences. Three of the members speak Spanish as a first language. Another three were born in African countries. Only three are from North Carolina, and their ages range from twenty-one to the mid-50s. Allen believes diversity is the strength of sales and success. Our differences are our strength," she comments. Since all of us are different, each has something to teach and each has something to learn."

Along with her various church ministries and activities, Allen is also supporting a number of organizations within the community through Avons fund-raising opportunities. She is currently organizing a fund-raiser for Imagine, a non-profit organization who builds handicap-access ramps for North Carolina businesses and organizations. She is a principal sponsor for Imagines Build-A-Ramp festival to be held in May. Her unit will also be sponsoring a Phone-A-Thon to raise money for the birthing center at Rex Hospital this Spring. Of course, this is just the beginning. Allens ultimate goal is to establish annual fund-raisers for area churches and womens shelters. She also hopes to cross state lines and begin sponsoring national efforts to fund Christian ministries and outreach programs for women.

According to Allen, the most rewarding aspect of her business is helping women feel good about themselves. She does this by coaching women to meet their financial goals through Avons earnings opportunity. She also offers free makeovers and skincare consultations to teach women of all ages how to properly care for their bodies and look their best at all times. When women look good," according to Allen, they feel better about themselves. Confidence leads to success, and thats what I can offer women on a daily basis." Allen will lead a recruiting team and a group of makeover specialists to participate in this years Southern Women Show, to be held in April at Raleighs Convention Center.

With so many accomplishments in such a short period of time, one might wonder about the magnitude of this young ladys financial goals. When asked to describe her ambitions, Allen stated that she simply wants three things: the opportunity to home-school her 3-year-old son, Jaaron; more time to spend with her husband, Christopher; and the freedom to work in full-time, Christian ministry.
