Atrium Furniture Mall Welcomes Shoppers From All 50 States and 12 countries in 30 Days

The Atrium's tag line is "World Class Shopping" and they really mean it! In 30 days, shoppers have come in from every state in the US (including Alaska and Hawaii), plus 12 countries.

The Atrium Furniture Mall welcomed visitors from the 50th US state on June 9 and treated the surprised shoppers to a Furniture Shoppers Survival tote bag filled with goodies and lunch at the Atrium Café.
To celebrate National Tourism Week beginning May 10, the Atrium put up a huge map of the United States and asked shoppers to put a pin in where they were from. What started as just a week-long celebration turned into a continuing promotion as people from around the world started putting pins in for their countries and Mall Marketing staff realized that only a few states remained without pins.
Every time employees and store associates walked by, they asked our receptionist where the newest pins were from. When we realized we were missing only a few states, it became an exciting game to see how long it would take to get every state represented," stated Judie Holcomb-Pack, Marketing Director. When we got Alaska and Hawaii in, we knew we were close. Finally only Mississippi remained pinless."
On June 9, one day short of a month that the map had been up, Edward and Nancy Ziegler stopped by and were surprised at the reception they received. They described themselves as currently homeless", as their home in Mississippi sold sooner than they expected, so they moved in with their son in Myrtle, MS, until they close on their new home in July. Were using the time to visit our daughters in Charlotte and Greensboro and shop for furniture. We found the Atrium on the Internet just this morning and decided on the spur of the moment to make the trip over from Charlotte," said Edward Ziegler.
Along with all 50 states, shoppers have come from Thailand, New Zealand, India, Nigeria, Venezuela, Bermuda, France, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Holland, the Czech Republic and Germany. The top states for visitors are North Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey and Florida.
The Atrium Furniture Mall is owned by Ikerd Enterprises, Hickory, NC. The general mall manager is Jim Wall. The Atrium Furniture Mall is located at 430 S. Main Street, High Point, North Carolina, and is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm, and Saturday from 9 am until 5 pm.
