The 3e WLAN Security Suite is implemented in an innovative manner so that critical performance is not sacrificed in providing a rugged FIPS 140-2 Level 2 highly secure wireless solution. Additionally, the 3e WLAN Security Suite features an RF Manager that allows the adjustment of WLAN RF output power level from 0 up to 200 milliwatts, providing both an increased coverage range and finer RF power control.

The 3e WLAN Security Suite was recently installed in a major U.S. Navy application aboard the USS Mason (DDG 87), an Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer. The installation included numerous 3e-521NP Wireless Gateways equipped with high power, extended range NIC cards. The 3e Wireless Gateways incorporated variable RF management, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and wirelessly connect 3e-110 WLAN PC Cards deployed in shipboard laptops. The PC cards utilize 3e-010 Crypto Client software for AES (or 3DES) encryption. To further ensure wireless security and integrity, the configuration contained redundant servers running 3e-030 Security Server software that create, distribute, and manage dynamic per session keys for each user, every time they log on. The Security Server software also authenticates all users by distributing and managing individual certificates.
