TAREY WOLFS MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION" RECEIVES 2003 OUTMUSIC AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING FEMALE DEBUT RECORDING
June 1, 2003 -- Tarey Wolf was awarded the 2003 Outmusic Award (OMA) for Outstanding Female Debut Recording. This honor was presented by co-hosts Jamie Anderson and Alix Dobkin before a packed house at the Knitting Factory in New York City. Wolfs Magnificent Obsession" shared these prestigious honors for best female debut recording with the talented Allison Tartaglia, for her debut CD, Ready."

The prestigious OMA Awards are presented by Outmusic, an international network of LGBT artists, producers, media and other enthusiasts of LGBT music. A select panel of judges, including agents, radio personalities, journalists, and other music and media professionals reviewed the initial entries and selected the nominees and eventual winners. This is the 3rd annual awards ceremony hosted by Outmusic.com. It was filmed by "Under the Pink Carpet," a gay Philadelphia TV program. Compared to a modern day Joni Mitchell, Shawn Colvin, Bonnie Raitt, Wolfs rich poetic tapestry of lyrics laid over a steady groove has begun to create enthusiastic followers from coast to coast and in Europe.
Wolf has appeared live on stage with Teresa Trull, for the much publicized opening of Claire of the Moon," with German rock star Lisa Nemzo and prominent folk artist Sandy Ross in Los Angeles; Performed also at the Troubadour, The Mint, Ghenghis Cohen, Kulaks Woodshed, Coffee Gallery Backstage and other notable venues in Los Angeles; The Knitting Factory in New York; Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, Michigan; Madisons in Seattle, Washington. Tareys material is currently being aired in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tampa Bay, Florida, Belgium and Costa Rica. Songs and/or scores are on hold by HBO, Kane Films, Tim McGraw, Arista, Goodland Music Group. She is a founding member of the SongwritersGang, an online writers group. Tarey collaborates with other songwriters from Los Angeles, Nashville, Dallas, Albuquerque, Philadelphia, Switzerland and England, all via the internet, and also continues her career as a solo artist. Her follow-up CD, Second Story, is due out in stores this fall.
