AWARD-WINNING WIREDNOMAD ONLINE TRAVEL JOURNAL SET TO OFFER SERVICE TO CONNECTED TRAVELERS

WiredNomad.com is preparing to offer its online travel journal system to the public - not just the continent-hopping couple that got the site started. By mid-summer, other laptop and DV cam-toting travelers will share their journals, photos, and videos with their friends and with the world via WiredNomad.

WiredNomad.com is preparing to offer its online travel journal system to the public - not just the continent-hopping couple that got the site started. By mid-summer, other laptop and DV cam-toting travelers will share their journals, photos, and videos with their friends and with the world via WiredNomad.

In Fall 2002 WiredNomad (http://www.wirednomad.com) launched with the multi-media chronicles of Boulder couple Dan Burns and Shaunna McGrath. On their nine month journey through South America, New Zealand, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Australia Burns and McGrath wrote about their experiences, plus shot digital photographs and digital video of the sights, sounds, and people they encountered.

On the road, Burns and McGrath edited the raw material and uploaded it to the WiredNomad web site. The site was designed by Art + Logic Interactive, a Glendale, California based digital marketing and technology firm and is powered by the personal publishing engine of sister company InkNoise.

In March 2003 WiredNomad was recognized with a South by Southwest Interactive Festival Award in the online journal category. An online journal, also know as a "weblog," or just "blog," is a chronological journal of thoughts and ideas, mostly text. Blogging is the newest hyper-growth internet communication trend, with hundreds of thousands of people blogging already.

WiredNomad extends the text-based blog concept to include multi-media elements such as photo galleries and video, and adds a sophisticated look that current blogs lack.

Over 50,000 people have visited WiredNomad so far. Of those, hundreds have expressed interest in following in the footsteps of Burns and McGrath to post their own multi-media travel journals.

Building on its experience publishing the first multi-media online travel journal, in July Art + Logic Interactive/InkNoise will introduce a web-based service to allow other travelers to use the same innovative journal-publishing platform.

The InkNoise personal publishing engine is the behind-the-scenes software that provides the travelers with a private web control panel from which to publish their travel content, and the public web site for others to view the published travel content.

With InkNoise, the new breed of wirednomads will not only be able to publish their multi-media travel experiences, but will have their own @wirednomad.com email address, send online postcards with their own travel pictures, and maintain email lists of friends interested in their travels.
