The site is for working, retired and freelance print, radio, television and online broadcast journalists, news photographers as well as executives from the world of public relations, advertising, market research and design, to join this new global media community.

The media is an inter-related, fast moving and highly mobile world in which people quickly make friends and contacts -- then as situations change they can just as quickly lose touch with one another Media Buddies has been created to help find and renew these lost friendships" says David Davis, the sites founder.

The idea for Media Buddies was born when Davis was clearing out a cupboard and came across a press cuttings book from his first job at the Croydon Times, Surrey, England.. He wondered what had happened to his old colleagues on the weekly newspaper and then the hundreds of colleagues and contacts he had made during a lifetime career in media communications around the world that included journalism (Press Association, The Times) and public relations (Edelman Public Relations, Medialink Worldwide, Rainier Public Relations and na europe, a subsidiary of DPA, the German national news agency.).

The longer I searched the less I discovered and the need for an internet reunion service exclusive for people in the media became apparent" Davis added.
