Emergency Visions and Yakabod Form Alliance to Deliver Emergency Management Solutions

Emergency Visions and Yakabod form a strategic partnership today to provide customized consequence-management software and services for homeland security preparedness and other emergency response initiatives.

ATLANTA, GA and WESTMINSTER, MD (PRWEB) June 16, 2003 - Emergency Visions, a leading provider of consequence-management solutions, and Yakabod Inc., an enterprise technology solutions provider, today announced that the two companies have formed a strategic alliance to deliver integrated software and consulting solutions to public and private sector organizations. Under the agreement, Yakabod will be the primary development partner responsible for the next release of Emergency Visions' "ResponseVision" suite of consequence-management tools. In addition to managing the core development, Yakabod will be responsible for customization of the product to address the specific requirements of each customer and industry segment.

"We view this agreement as a perfect union of strengths," said Shawn Smith, president and CEO of Emergency Visions. Yakabod has established themselves as a premiere enterprise development organization, especially within the government intelligence and homeland security sectors. And our staff of world-class emergency management consultants is an ideal complement to the products that Yakabod and Emergency Visions will develop. Yakabod is very unique in what they do and the technologies that they offer."

ResponseVision is a complete software solution based upon the Emergency Management and Incident Command System principles established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency ( FEMA). The tools were designed by a consulting team of emergency management, public health, and industry professionals, including former FEMA managers, using an all-hazards approach.

"We have a passion for making great ideas work, and we think Emergency Visions has some great ideas," said Scott Ryser, founder and CEO of MD-based Yakabod. Our focus on integrating business communities with their people, coupled with our relationship modeling engine, form a powerful platform for bringing the next version of ResponseVision to market."

Smith added, "Our clients can be confident of the overall content, workflow, applicability and performance of ResponseVision as a Consequence Management solution to both natural and man-made hazards."

Together, the companies will deliver software-automation technology which not only prepares and alerts emergency response participants for potential incidents, but assesses the vulnerability of organizations to various emergencies and their readiness to respond, catalogs all the human and physical resources participating in an emergency response, automates the existing contingency plans of municipalities or individual private sector organizations, coordinates the utilization of these plans in an overall incident response, prompts users to take appropriate, specific actions during the incident response, and audits the actions taken by plan participants.

As a complement to the software solutions that the companies will develop together, Emergency Visions' consulting services team continues to grow in depth and breadth. Currently, Emergency Visions has over 60 consultants with specialties which include: Chemical, Utility, Gas Pipeline, Port, Rail, and Aviation specialists; Emergency Management and Incident Command System experts (Hazard Mitigation / Preparedness / Response / Recovery); Epidemiologists, Health Physicists Firefighters Emergency Medical Technicians; Emergency Preparedness and Response Trainers; Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Specialists; Emergency Department Directors, Physicians, and Nurses; Terrorism response and Physical Infrastructure Security experts; Emergency Response Planners and Simulation/Drill Coordinators; and Public Information Officers. Most of these consultants have over 25 years of experience.
